How do I wash my stainless steel lunch box?

The stainless steel lunch boxes can be used in the dishwasher, however we recommend simply using warm soapy water and a cloth or sponge. It’s best not to use abrasive scrubbers, harsh chemicals including bleach.

Please wash your lunch box with soap and warm water prior to its first use.

Does stainless steel rust or stain?

Stainless steel is highly resistant to corrosion, though it’s not insusceptible. Proper care is needed to prolong the life of your stainless steel lunch box, so we have given some care tips below.

Stainless steel is a material that is used extensively in kitchens due to its resilience towards heat, corrosion and stain resistance. However, if treated with harsh chemicals, coated with grease or dirt without being regularly cleaned, or even left outside, the stainless steel will be vulnerable to corrosion. Please follow the care tips.

Care Tips:

  • Before first use, wash gently with warm soapy water.
  • To remove stubborn food, simply soak in warm water first.
  • Don’t use abrasive scrubbers and this will scratch the surface leaving the lunch box more vulnerable to corrosion.
  • Don’t use any harsh chemicals like bleach.
  • Dry thoroughly after washing to avoid water sitting the surface for too long.
  • To avoid possible staining, take care with acidic food like lemon juice, salad dressing, vinegar. Don’t leave acidic liquid in the lunch box for hours on end.

Can I use the stainless steel lunch box to heat food?

NOT SUITABLE for use in the microwave.

The stainless steel lunch boxes can be used to heat food in the oven, but take care when removing from the oven as the containers will be extremely hot.

The lunch boxes can also be used on a camp fire, however please note that the bottom s likely to blacken from the flames and the extreme direct heat.

How do I adjust the clips on my lunch box?

The clips are easily adjusted by pulling the clip end towards you for a looser fit, or pushing it back in for a tighter fit. Children would certainly benefit from the clip being adjusted to a loose fit!
